As of 11:30 tonight my 60 year old crippled mother was issued a multiple count citation for feeding stray cats. (each citation will cost $50+) All but 3 of these cats are fixed and are people friendly who, for the most part stay on her property. My parents live in the country and thanks to a neighbor across the street, will by next month be watching their beloved friends be legally killed thanks to the local police being on his speed dial. (he took to these measures after authorities had to be contacted once he was found violently killing them, and was told "you can't do that".)
If you are capable of taking in a rescue cat or two that are clean, friendly fixed with their shots please contact me... I'll post pictures soon, we have big little old and young. We're just looking for good friendly homes for these cats rather than watching them die because ONE person has a problem with them.
and no kidding my mom has made these stray cats her life, without them she'd have very little to get out of bed for for the last couple years. I am not trying to be manipulative when I say this will put a serious dent in her health to watch her babies die.

As you may know, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus is making its annual visit to Hampton Roads soon. They usually come on the coldest week in February, but lucky for us their stop in Norfolk was delayed to a warmer month! The circus is awaiting a ruling by a federal court judge on a lawsuit it is facing for allegedly violating the Endangered Species Act (ESA). According to the plaintiffs in the case, Ringling violated the ESA by chaining endangered Asian elephants for prolonged periods—up to 100 hours at a stretch—and beating them with sharp metal-tipped bullhooks until they bled.
We will need everyone to come out and make our annual opening night circus demonstration the biggest one yet!
What: Opening night mass demonstration
When: Thursday, April 16, 6 p.m.
Where: Scope Arena, 215 E. Brambleton Ave.
, Norfolk, VA
Please urge your family, friends, and neighbors to come out to this important demonstration. We need to let Ringling know that whips, chains, and bullhook abuse is not welcome in our city.
If you're interested in seeing exactly what we're talking about, please check out the undercover investigation videos below, and PLEASE don't take your kids to an animal circus.( Ringling is grossCollapse )

Hello, I just joined this community about two seconds ago. :)
I'm relatively new to shopping cruelty free, I found it was so easy to find cruelty free cosmetics, but other things, namely cleaning supplies have been harder to find.
I have not been able to find any cruelty free dishsoap in any of the usual grocery stores I go to.
Can anyone recommend a brand that is carried by grocery stores, or should I start to look at ordering some online?
Thank you :)
I'm not sure if this is appropriate (if not, feel free to delete), but...
Someone bought me the 14-eye boots from Vegan Essentials
but they bought the wrong size. Being the Einstein that I am, I decided I'd wear them for a day to see how big a deal the size issue was - and, yes, it was a very big deal. Needless to say, I can't exchange them, so I've experimented with different ways to make the boots work. The bottom line is, I need the right size, so I'm hoping to sell these and put the money towards another pair. These retail for close to $200, but I'd be willing to accept $100 plus shipping. They're a lady's size eight but fit like a lady's size nine. From what I understand, these hold up RIDICULOUSLY well and are well worth the money, so $100 is a steal... Perfect for that size-nine vegan someone to trot around the snow in this holiday season.
